Tucson Stamp Ride

Please plan to join us for a scenic ride from HDOS to Tucson, AZ. for a collection of stamps in support of the stamp tour.

Meet at HDOS at 8:30am to discuss the route and for a safety briefing. 9:00 KSU from HDOS. The first stop will be the Chevron at US-60 & Goldfield Road in Apache Junction, which is a second meetup spot for East siders. Be at the Chevron at 9:45 for a 10am KSU from the Chevron. From there we will go east on US-60 and south on AZ-77 through Florence.

From there, the stops and time at each stop will be:

  • Speedway at 12885 N Oracle Road in Oro Valley: gas stop, 20 minutes
  • Buffet Bar in Tucson: TODR stamp stop, 30 minutes
  • Hotel Congress in Tucson: 3160 Hotels challenge stop, 10 minutes
  • Mulligan's in Tucson: TODR stamp stop, 30 minutes
  • Saguaro Corners in Tucson: TODR stamp stop, 50 minutes, probable lunch stop although we could eat earlier at Mulligan's
  • American Legion Post 109 south of Tucson: TODR stamp stop, 30 minutes

​​From the American Legion there is an option to go south to Abe's Old Tumacacori Bar. This option adds 66 miles and about an hour of riding, plus 30 minutes or so at Abe's. Or you can head to the Best Western Gold Poppy Inn. If you want to head to the hotel and get the Abe's TODR stamp on Sunday, be aware that Abe's does not open until noon.

Estimates for these two options (mileage from HDOS):

  • Non-Abe's: 213 miles, 8:00 hours, ETA 5pm at the hotel
  • Abe's: 279 miles, 9:30 hours, ETA 6:30pm at the hotel
