Winter Round Up - Yuma AZ

HOG 3160 will have a group ride to the Winter Round-Up in Yuma on Friday, Jan 17th.  

The plan is as follows:

• Meet-up at HDOS NLT 8:30am
• KSU from HDOS at 9:00am sharp. 
• Ist gas stop will be at the 2nd Shell Station in Wickenberg.  This location is also a meet-up point for those on the west side that would prefer to meet us there (at around 10:15)
• KSU from the shell station is 10:30 am
• 2nd stop will be lunch in Quartsite at the Times 3 Family Restaurant (Approx 12:00 - 1:00)
• Following lunch, we will gas up at the Loves Travelstop before heading south (on US Rt 95) to Yuma
• Final destination on Friday is the Radisson Hotel Yuma (See link below)

Optional group ride on Saturday 1/18 to Julian, CA:

Ray Prather is planning on (weather permitting) a long ride to Julian, CA on Saturday (There will likely be other "led ride" options from the rally as well).

       The plan for this ride is:

• Meet up in the Radisson Hotel parking lot at approx. 8:30am (may want to bring some warm weather gear just in case)
• KSU from the Radisson at 9:00am. Route starts on I-8, then onto Hwy 98 through Calexico, CA.
• First gas stop is Ocotillo, CA (90 miles) at approx 10:30am
• Lunch Stop in Julian, CA  (location TBD) at approx 12:00.....a town well known for great pie!  Also a gas stop (location TBD) before departing town.
• The route back to Yuma will head south from Julian on Hwy 79 to Descanso, then west on Hwy 80 through Pine Valley to the Westeria Candy Cottage (where we will make a quick stop for home made candies and fudge).
• From the Candy Cottage, we will make a quick gas stop in Ocotillo (if needed) before heading back to Yuma via Hwy 98/I-8
• Final stop is the Radisson Hotel Yuma (at approx 5:00pm)
• Total route is approx 320 miles.

Optional group ride on Sunday 1/19 to Algodones, MX:

     The details for this led ride are not available at this time, but Wally has indicated that there will be a led group ride to the American side on Algodones, MX on Sunday.

• If you are planning on going on this ride....AND walking into Mexico to shop in Algodones....MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR PASSPORT (Or passport card) WITH YOU.
• You will have a very hard time getting back into the US with out it!
