Some answers to questions people have about the weekly 3160 eBlast, which normally comes out on Tuesdays.

Why am I not getting the eBlast?

First, check your spam or junk folder to see if the eBlast is there. If you do see it there, and would like it to come to your Inbox, then the problem is a function of the email system you are using. Different email systems use different algorithms to determine which incoming emails to send to your Inbox, and which to send to spam/junk or block completely. Your email system may have a way to mark the eBlast as "Do not send to spam/junk" or "Route future emails from this address to my Inbox". This is not always a hard-and-fast rule. Email systems will sometimes start routing emails to spam/junk if you are not interacting with them by opening them or clicking on links. So, if you find the eBlast, be sure to open it, and click on some links. This should train your email system that you like the eBlast, and the email system may start routing it to your Inbox in the future.

If you do not see the eBlast at all, contact [email protected] and [email protected] to make sure that your correct email address is in the system used to send the eBlast, and that you did not accidentally unsubscribe.

Why does the eBlast say it is from Rick Hilton and not Chris Shaver?

The eBlast is sent out with a From name of Director and a From email address of [email protected]. Some email clients will display this, and if so, there's nothing you need to do. However some email clients, particularly those on smartphones will, when an email comes in, do a lookup of the email address in your Contacts and, if the email address is found, they will display the name of your Contact instead. Find Rick's entry in your Contacts and change his email address to his new one: [email protected]. Find or create a Contact for Chris Shaver and set the email address to [email protected]. That should resolve the issue moving forward. Yay smartphones, they make more work for us when they screw up!
